JoJo Baby ftw!

"Ftw" is nerd speak, and translates to "for the win". I bet all you nerds already knew that, but I only learned it recently. Anyway. This guy's make-up and outfits are fantastic!

I love this photo of him, it's so crazy yet elegant as well:

I'm so impressed with the third eye in his forehead ,it's gorgeously done and so mad and glittery and basically the best thing ever:

awkward family photos

I just discovered a blog called Awkward Family Photos, it had me giggling out loud.
This is my favourite awkward family photo from the blog:

life in pink

I discovered this lady on Flick, and it was love at first sight when I discovered her photostream. I have a slight suspicion that she *might* like pink. As I've said before, more is more, don't let anyone trick you into thinking otherwise. I can't get enough of people who go to extremes.

I think I love my art supplies more than I love anything I could make with them.. so I obviously also love seeing other people's studios work spaces and crafty stuff:

She makes sock creatures, they come in more colours than pink, like this goth sock creature:

But I guess it doesn't come as a big shock that she makes her sock creatures in pink as well:

You can find her sock creatures along with other sugary cute stuff she makes in her Etsy shop: kittypinkstars.etsy.com
And you can also find her on Flickr, blogger, myspace and facebook.

Mr. Cool Ice

Mr. Cool Ice is german, and apparently a clean freak. It's the german stereotype.. tidy, clean, organized and on time.. I hope it rubs off on me while I'm living in Germany. Mr. Cool Ice is totally cool and digs Vanilla Ice. He's getting a lot of shit on the internet for his choice of tattoos - a lot of people call them the worst tattoos ever.

The sunglasses on the back of his head are the bestest:

The worst tattoos ever? I disagree. I think his tattoos are cool, positive, over-the-top and funny. I bet this guy has tons of self irony and is totally fun to be with!

Mr. Cool Ice.. when he arrives, so does the party :)

Sam

My friend Sam died recently. He was such a handsome guy with a heart of gold. He had infinite amounts of cute in him, was so fun to be with and had a contagious laughter. He did the best dance moves on the face of the planet. I can't believe I won't be able to see him again.

His sister asked me to do a drawing of him for his funeral, so I did this portrait of him:

I wish all the evil people would die first.
Life is unfair.

i've been flashed in the park!!

as i was walking in tier garten in berlin earlier today, i saw this man sitting along a path with an umbrella on the ground. i thought it was sort of odd as it was really sunny. he was hiding his face, yet looking at me weird as i walked past him. i wondered if something was wrong, as he seemed uncomfortable and had chosen a really weird place to sit - just next to a bin.

a little further away i sat down under a tree to read a book, think about life and enjoy the fact that i had bothered taking a walk in the park. when i finally looked up again - i see mr. umbrella man walking about - NAKED! it was a surreal sight; he walked with grace, like he was pretending to be adam in eden or something. it was obvious that he was putting on a show for me. then someone else came along the path and he hurried back to where he had been sitting, put a t-shirt on and hid behind his umbrella.

i managed to get a photo of him as he was hurrying back to his umbrella hide-out:

aaand i've been kind enough to enlarge the bit with mr. umbrella man in so as to not disappoint any of my blog readers:

it would be funny if he found my blog and saw that i've uploaded a photo of him in the nude!

tier garten is in the center of berlin, and it's really crowded with people working out, eating lunch and taking care of the park- the last thing i had expected was seeing a man walk about "secretly" in the nude! i say secretly as i think the guards would have chucked him out if he was discovered. he was clearly not a nudist, but a pervy-man.

people are entertaining.

the queen of corsets

cathie jung has worn a corset 24/7 since 1983, and only takes it off when she needs a shower. she now has a 38 cm (15 inch) waist. she is married to an orthopedic surgeon who claims she hasn't suffered any problems due to her waist reduction.
she's born in 1937. that makes her... 72 years old?? she's well fit for being 72!! i think i'll be in my soft comfy-trousers when i'm 72, though,.. wrapped up in a fluffy blanket on the sofa in all sorts of slouchy positions..

check this corset out; it's silver! or metal at least, but i think i remember it being silver:

wow. that's devotion!

google image search

i'm a google image search addict.. i just can't stop. i look at all sorts of stuff. i try to come up with clever search terms to get the best photos. like this one:

this posing man is the result of a google image search session i did ages ago. i re-discovered it on my well stocked hard drive today.

the name of the file is "fucked up", so i guess that was what i was searching for. it's a bit trite, i must have ran out of clever things to search for..

i don't think the guy in the picture is that fucked up to be honest, but it's a great picture nevertheless.

is he trying to be funny, or is he trying to be sexy? or both?? what do you think?

amanda lepore

upon seeing this photo by i-don't-know-who (do you know who it is by??), i knew i had to find out more about the model. only i couldn't remember the name of the photographer, and i didn't know the name of the model. and yet i found her! as i keep saying; i'm magnetic to things like this.

when i saw more photos of amanda lepore, i realized this wasn't the first time i was fascinated of her; i've also been intrigued by this photo of her by david la chapelle for ages:

the photo by david lachapelle and the one by i-don't-know-who sort of have two different approaches to amanda lepore. the first one is gritty and dark. it speaks of amanda lepore being born armand lepore, it speaks of wanting to be something else- about being transexual, but not in a very cheerful way.

now i like dark stuff, and i like the photo - and i like transexual people and transvestites (hell, if i were a man i'd still wear tutus and glitter make-up) - but i don't know if it's a dignified photo of her? although i guess not everything has to be dignified. it's good to see different sides to things, as there's always more than one truth. and self irony, being able to not take onself too seriously all the time, is important.

i love this photo of pamela anderson and amanda lepore. what a great combination of people, they should walk about together all the time to make people think twice. it makes me think twice.

i sometimes think it's a bit rubbish with all these girls having plastic surgery and breast implants.
yet when someone feels they're born the wrong sex and wants to change it, i'm all supportive.
looking at this photo of pamela and amanda, i feel a bit like a hypocrite. they both want the same thing, so why is it more right for amanda than for pamela? i have to realize that some people just weren't born as perfect as myself, like pamela anderson, so who am i to judge about her need for plastic surgery.. ;)

awwhh this photo sums up my love for amanda lepore; she's such a character - like something out of a comic! she's like a charicature of herself, and i think it's a mighty good charicature.

i watched an interview with amanda lepore on youtube, - she seemed really allert, clever and aware of herself, by the way - and the guy interviewing her asked her why she, as david lachapelle, seemed to embrace the extremes. amanda's answer was that the alternative was just too boring. as i've always said; more is more :)

oh and what do you think of my new layout? does it distract from the content, or does it make the content more easily accessible? good or bad?

harder better faster stronger

i love how this girl dances! i like it when it's obvious that people are having fun when they dance - when they put all their energy into mad creative moves.

a bit of an update;

i was so excited when writing this blog entry(i just kept looking at the video) that i totally forgot to mention HOW the video was made. my boyfriend thinks it's clear for everyone to see, yet i didn't realise that there was some funky tricks going on till i saw a video of it on youtube.. apparently the girl is videotaped dancing all slow to the tune slowed down, and then it's been speeded up to sound normal and look like super-fast dancing moves. none the less impressive, me thinks. clever!

a girl with a mighty mad style

i've only been on flickr for a few days and i've already found great stuff. today i found this girl. i'm loving her fringe, i used to have something like it when i was younger, it might have to make a comeback. i'm absolutely amazed by such intricate colourful hair bonanza but i don't even bother to comb my hair so i guess i'll have to stick with what nature has given me till i feel more inspired. i also really like the tattoos on her arms. and her make up and just her colourful self in general.

is this elf ear surgery or fake elf ears? i'm green of envy if it's for real:

check out her self portrait set on flickr.

an attempt at embracing emo culture

i hate too much. i find it really enjoyable to hate, and i need to stop it. i read in science illustrated that people who take revenge and steal from others end up loosing in the long run. i guess they've scientifically proved that being a hater is bad karma.

something i really hate is pretenciousness. wannabes. i think i see it a lot in scene kids and emos.

maybe because they remind me of myself at that age and it makes me embarrassed thinking of how pretencious i used to be.

maybe i'll be more comfortable with myself if less of the people who remind me of myself annoy me.

i think emos get too much shit for who they are.

you can say it's sad how they claim to be individual yet they all look alike, but that is the case with all subcultures, like goth, punk or even ravers. being truly original is hard work when everything has been done before.

and i don't really think everything has to be original, as long as it's fun.

people seem to forget that although emo is a thing for teenagers, there's a lot of even worse styles teenagers go for. and often being a teenager is a little silly and pretencious, no matter the style. emo might be one of the cooler and rebellious styles for teenagers today, as a sort of modernised goth/punk. it's too easy making fun of teenagers and it isn't easy being one. luckily it's just a phase (for most people, i still treasure the teen angst).

i think i can like emo in the way i like marilyn manson. mainstream people don't like marilyn manson, that's expected. but i've also found that a lot of people who try really hard at being alternative are too snobbish for marilyn manson as he's not underground enough. i like marilyn manson for this very reason; because he's an outcast - even in the group of people where he should belong (also i actually like his music) .

emo is sort of like this. mainstream people ridicule them, and goth/punk/alternative people ridicule them too.

i don't want to be an ignorant cunt.

i think a lot of them look fun;
there's piercings,
androgynity,
big hair,
madly coloured hair (seems like HAIR is something they care about quite a lot),
strange clothing,

they're not that bad.

here are some photos of emo people that i like. i think some of them look scene, but i found all of them on an emo website, so i'll just trust the expert - and besides, i don't have to be an ignorant cunt to scene kids either:

this one looks goth to me, but he thinks he's emo. well suit yourself:

obligatory pout for picture (a good pout in a picture makes all the difference in the world!!):

i'm only including this picture because of the glimpse of an emo cock:

i used to walk about with plastic bugs in my hair too, so i'm biased to this look:

i found most of my emo pictures at fashion-emo-hairstyles.blogspot.com. a place to visit if all of this made you want to emo it up.

i also found a very amusing scene rant, including this bit on scene hair.
"The whole “backwards, poofy black mullet” thing doesn’t always have to be what all scene hair looks like, though; scene hairstyles can range from looking like a large dead skunk to looking like a large dead raccoon. Possibly in some cases just a very large dead bird of some sort. See below for examples.":

i can sense this person's resentment to hair resembeling a very large dead bird/racoon/skunk, but personally i like hair the bigger and more mad it gets. if i had the patience, the skills, the hair dye, the straighteners etc i would go for the look myself. but right now i'm struggling to even comb my hair on a regular basis, so i doubt i'll have the self discipline to pull off the large dead bird/racoon/skunk style in the near future.

the word "POSERS!" is stuck in my mind after having written this lengthy blog entry, then i remembered the main point of it was that i'm not an ignorant cunt any longer, and am ending this blog entry with this picture i found instead:

i am a super hero of my generation, but i never thought i looked retarded ;)
