At first I thought that it couldn't be real. My boyfriend thought it was mayonnaise that they had injected under the guy's skin, and then squeezed out as a practical joke. Ugh that is a freaky thought. But I've read that a lot of people think it's not a zit but a cyste or abscess. I don't care what people name the thing as long as I know that it's real. Bahahaha! OH. MY. GOD!!
I wonder what happens at the end though, I get the impression that something happens but they turn the camera away. What? Did his spine ooze out with all the puss, or what exactly happens that seems worse than whatever they've already shown? Or did they turn the camera away randomly and nothing extra happens.. Come on, I'm curious.. I bet that he was feeling really relieved at the end of it.

the girl with the alien feet
Shen Xiaojing's right foot is 32 cm long, and apparently her unusual feet is scaring away possible marriages that her parents has arranged. Good for her! I would never have wanted to end up in an arranged marriage anyway, and I'm sure she'll find someone on her own who will appreciate her (and her feet!). I think Shen's feet are kind of elegant, in a sort of strange alien way.

paintings by Isabelle Inghilleri
These are possibly not the newest of her paintings, as I saved them to my computer ages ago, but they're still some of my favourite works by Inghilleri. I like how she has used lines in these paintings.

a pretty picture
.. that I found in Rex Venom's blog :
I think it looks like they're in a pool of jelly that hasn't set proper yet, only thickened a little. How great would it be to dive into a pool of slushy strawberry jelly!??

fantasy art by Frank Frazetta
Frank Frazetta has drawn both Vampirella and Conan. I don't care much for either of the two characters, but I like the way they are drawn. Plump bodies, pretty colours, mystical mossy forests, people with wings, far-away planets.. it's a little cheesy, and it's probably not the style they would have preferred us to go for in art college, but it's fun and I love it.
I love sci-fi and fantasy art made in the 60's-70's. It's something about the muted colours, the softness and graininess in comparison to contemporary flat colours and harsh lines. Also there's a more erotic, calm and mysterious feeling to them than the harsh sexy, action fuelled weaponry fixated stuff I see a lot of now. Things where better before ha ha... naah.. even my grandmother disagrees with that.

a drawing from my sketchbook
I've been sketching for my doll project lately. I like that they are bodies, yet not alive. They are uncanny. I'm using real dolls as my models. I can't afford fancy ball jointed ones, so this one is Barbie's cousin that I ripped the head off because she looked too much like a cheerleader. I then replaced it with the head from a Pocahontas Barbie that I stripped the paint off of because she looked too much like Pocahontas (go figure). I stripped her hair off too, and made her dreads from yarn. If I'm going to paint dolls, they can't look like cheerleaders. I think I just have to work with my dolls, dress them up and pose them and see what comes out of it.
In this sketch, I glued on pieces of yarn for her hair (The turquoise and black yarn is sock yarn that I'm using to knit socks with at the moment, I think they'll be the prettiest socks ever!). I'd like to work more with texture for these paintings, and maybe use a bit of collage, and in general just do less minimalistic stuff than I've done before when I've painted people/bodies.

strange hats by Dreamwoven
I knit a lot at the moment, so I like to look at pictures of knitted stuff. Sadly, most pictures of knitted stuff are really mundane. People knit a lot of boring stuff! Not Dreamwoven, though, she knits crazy, strange stuff:

portrait painting by Sean Cheetham
Sean Cheetham paints portraits in a style that makes me think of the great masters. It's ace to see people with tattoos, piercings, hair spray and platform boots painted in a style like this!
This painting is a self portrait:I think I have a thing for good profile paintings. Or just paintings with any pose that seem fixed and static.
How great is this painting !!? :
This painting won the BP award in 2005:
It's all so cool and so well painted, I can't wait to see what sort of paintings he'll come up with next.
